Asus Accidental Damage Warranty
YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO COMPENSATION
Do you have an Asus computer? Did you attempt to obtain repair or replacement of your Asus computer under the Asus Accidental Damage Protection Warranty only to get rejected because you did not register or “activate” your warranty?
Asus represents that its notebook computers come with an additional 1 year warranty for accidental damage. However, as a precondition to coverage under the warranty, Asus requires that consumers “activate” their warranties by sending in the registration card or registering online within 60 days of purchasing their Asus notebook computers.
Various state and federal consumer warranty laws expressly prohibit the registration of warranties as a precondition. In addition, in the event any product registration is requested by the manufacturer, the warranty statement or registration form must contain clear and conspicuous language that informs the consumer that the card or form is for product registration, and that failure to complete and return the card or form to the manufacturer does not diminish warranty rights.
